Oregon City, OR

Lewis & Clark Bank, a full service commercial bank with a wide range of deposit and lending products, announced it has received its charter from the State of Oregon and deposit insurance from the FDIC, effective today. Headquartered in Oregon City, Lewis & Clark Bank will provide East Portland Metropolitan area businesses, non-profit organizations, developers and residents with a locally owned and managed resource for loans, deposits and other financial services. According to President and CEO Larry Baker, "Oregon City is a growing community, and there’s a real need for a local bank with the expertise and focus to provide personalized service." The community is clearly in agreement, as the new bank exceeded its capital funding target, bringing in the maximum $13.2 permitted in its offering circular.

One factor in drawing such strong financial backing is the experienced executive team responsible for the bank’s strategy and execution. In addition to Baker, the team includes Chief Financial Officer Trey Maust, Chief Lending Officer Jeff Sumpter, Chief Credit Officer Bill Reiling and Senior Vice President and Commercial Real Estate Manager Autumn Rudisel. Every one of these individuals has extensive experience in community banking in the greater Portland area. This is a rare advantage, as executives in new banks typically come from large regional banks. The combined experience and local expertise of the executive team will be invaluable in steering the new bank and providing high quality service to its clients.

A key benefit for the bank’s clientele is that all decisions will be made locally by individuals who understand the community and the opportunities it affords. The current staff consists of eleven financial professionals with a shared commitment to working closely with clients to provide customized product solutions and ongoing support. To complement this personalized service, the bank will also provide state-of-the-art Internet banking and cash management, which will soon be available for 24 x 7 access to accounts and information.

Lewis & Clark Bank is currently operating at 506 12th Street, in a two story office building just a few blocks from the Oregon City Chamber of Commerce. A more formal grand opening is planned for early 2007 in the same location. The bank is building its permanent headquarters adjacent to the I-205 and Highway 213 interchange, and expects to move to the new location in late 2007 or early 2008.

December 15th was a significant milestone for Lewis & Clark Bank. "I’m thrilled to be working with such an experienced and committed group of professionals," says Baker. "We’ve worked hard to make Lewis & Clark Bank a reality. Now we can begin fulfilling our mission, which is to provide the people and businesses of this community with the highest quality of financial service."
